• Botox & Other Neurotoxins

    Botox® Xeomin® Dysport®

Neurotoxin injections reduce facial lines and wrinkles formed from the aging process and by hyper-functional muscles. They can also be used to treat excessive sweating. Treatments are quick and there is minimal downtime. You can even schedule your appointment with Emerald City Beauty over lunch and return to work that afternoon.

How does Botox® work? Repeated facial movements like smiling and squinting result in lines and creases in our skin. Young skin bounces back into place, unlike more mature skin. As we age, we lose collagen and elastin, which causes the lines to become even deeper. Botox temporarily reduces the amount of facial muscle movement, therefore allowing wrinkles to smooth out ore even preventing wrinkle formation in the first place. This will allow your skin to restore its youthfulness for a period of time.

  • Fillers

RHA is the only FDA approved hyaluronic acid filler for dynamic wrinkles and folds

Dynamic wrinkles and folds appear in areas of the face that move repetitively. Your face is dynamic, making millions of movements and micro-movements every day. Movements like squinting, frowning, laughing, and talking create dynamic wrinkles and folds. These wrinkles and folds can be difficult to treat because dermal fillers may cause the area to appear stiff or unnatural when the face moves. RHA® Collection is designed to be resilient enough to adapt to your facial movement, which may provide a more natural look at rest and in motion.

  • Microneedling & PRP

Microneelding coupled with PRP or “platelet rich plasma”, improves overall skin tone and texture by reducing fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, acne scars, and under eye bags. Microneedling revitalizes the skin by stimulating the body’s natural rejuvenation abilities in a process known as controlled wound healing. During a microneedling procedure, a device with small needles, known as The Skin Pen is gently rolled over the treatment area, creating small punctures in a controlled and methodical way. Known as micro-wounds, these punctures are microscopic and don’t damage the skin. Though superficial, the micro-wounds stimulate what’s called a “wound healing cascade.” The body increases circulation, releases growth factors, creates more cells, and produces more collagen. The result is beautifully restored, naturally rejuvenated skin.

In PRP, your own blood plasma is used to induce collagen and elastin production, which dramatically magnifies the rejuvenation effects of Microneedling. Prior to your Microneedling treatment, your provider collects a small sample of blood to prepare your PRP serum. The sample will slowly spin in a centrifuge, isolating the white blood cells and platelets to create a nutrient-rich concentrate. Then, during Microneedling, the plasma is topically applied to the treatment area, allowing the nutrient-rich serum to penetrate deep into the layers of your skin via the micro-channels created earlier.

PRP injections in the under-eye area are an excellent treatment for addressing fine lines and wrinkles for optimum rejuvenation. PRP contains growth factors that stimulate collagen production when injected into the skin. By stimulating new collagen production, platelet-rich plasma helps tighten loose skin around the eyes to lessen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles like crow’s feet, while also eliminating bags underneath the eyes. PRP under eye treatment is also an excellent way to treat dark circles as they increase blood flow through this region. Puffiness and discoloration around the eyes are less visible with as little as one treatment. While the results are not permanent, these injections can help patients looking for a more long-term option when it comes to looking youthful and refreshed.

  • Laser Treatments

IPL (also known as “Photofacial” or “BBL”) is used to even out skin tone and lighten freckles, brown spots, age spots, acne scars, spider veins, large pores, broken capillaries, and diffuse redness and rosacea.

We use the SmoothCool equipment, a state-of-the-art technology to treat blemishes and rejuvenate skin anywhere on your body without the need for invasive treatments. The SmoothCool technology has a handpiece that cools the skin as the heat pulse is applied, mitigating the traditional discomfort associated with older equipment. This IPL technology can safely and effectively treat deeper skin tones.

Our IPL machine has different filters to focus on attracting and lifting the chromophore (color) in the skin-either melanin (brown pigment), hemoglobin (red pigment) and/or bacterial growth in the skin for acne.

The initial color will appear darker for a week or so and you may experience a coffee-ground texture from some of the brown pigment lifting before it falls off. The number or treatments necessary can vary depending on many factors. Typically, positive improvement is visible within a month or two after 3 treatments one to six months apart. Some stubborn chronic red conditions such as rosacea with diffuse redness can take 6-8 treatments. Each IPL session takes about 30-60 minutes and will leave you able to return to your everyday activities with minimal to no downtime. You will have increased sun sensitivity so we will strongly recommend an appropriate SPF for protection.

Our LHR or “laser hair reduction” services can treat any area of the body including pelvic/buttocks, backs, legs, arms, chest and face assuming the hair has color. Our SmoothCool LHR technology targets the root of the hair and the color in the hair with minimal discomfort to reduce the likelihood that hair will grow back. LHR is accomplished through a series of treatments 4-6 weeks apart. The hair follicle must be in the anagen phase of growth to be killed by the heat. When the heat kills the follicle, the skin usually displays a small red bump for the first day and then the hair falls out. Laser hair removal is also effective in the treatment of pseudofolliculitis barbae (razor bumps).

  • Medical Grade Peels

Depending on the mutual goals discussed between patient and provider, the best chemical peel will be decided to help you achieve your skin objectives. A medical grade chemical peel is typically applied to the skin with solutions of varying concentrations such as salicylic acid, TCA, retinoic acid and/or glycolic acid. The chemical solution works both on the skin’s epidermis and dermis layers. These solutions will cause your skin to exfoliate (shed dead cells) for anything from 2-7 days enabling new skin growth to appear. Some peels include lightening agents to reduce hyperpigmentation at the same time.

Most medium depth peels have minimal to no discomfort and can be done in 30 minutes as an office procedure.

To see the optimal results, we usually recommend 3 peels a month apart and then one after 4-6 months. Some peels require additional home application for the first 24-48 hours to optimize results. Increased sun sensitivity is a factor post peel. Your provider will propose the best sunscreen for your skin type to give you maximum protection.

  • Plasma Pen Fibroblasting

Reduce lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity on multiple areas of your face and body with Plasma Pen treatments. This skin rejuvenation device uses plasma energy to stimulate collagen remodeling within the skin for a fresher, tighter, and more lifted appearance. It’s highly versatile and offers long-lasting results, often delaying or even preventing the need for surgical anti-aging procedures. The Plasma Pen is a hand-held device that activates the fibroblast cells in your skin responsible for collagen production. By creating tiny injuries in your skin’s surface, the device triggers these fibroblasts to synthesize new collagen as a healing response.

The result in 8-12 weeks post procedure is smoother, firmer, younger looking skin. It is an ideal treatment for upper eyelid hooding, crow’s feet, fine lines wrinkles/bags under the eyes, and vertical “smoker” lip lines around the mouth. Scars and stretch marks addressed also see reduction in appearance.

Your provider will start by discussing your concerns to make sure you’re a strong candidate for the procedure. Keep in mind the Plasma Pen is not recommended for darker skin tones as it can cause pigmentation issues in the treated areas.
